BIHTT directory policies
Mission statement:
BIHTT non-profit organization is dedicated to connecting seekers, teachers, and practitioners on the Big Island to facilitate transformational journeys. Our mission is to promote the accessibility of transformational teachings, fostering a local community where individuals can tap into the wealth of the Big Island's spiritual wisdom. We do this through hosting events where teachers can have more visibility in the community and providing a free website with a database of local teachers and practitioners of spiritual teachings and health and wellness knowledge.
Directory inclusion guidelines:
- Location
Location – The individual teacher or entity must be based on the Big Island. It’s OK if the offering is online, but the teacher must be on the Big Island at least a few months of the year.
- Topics
Topics – Anything that could be considered a “transformational teaching” or is part of routine or special health and wellness is within the scope. Broadly this means spiritual teachings, health, and wellness would be appropriate. Specific examples include, meditation, yoga, cleansings, massage, breathwork, classes transmitting spiritual knowledge, dietary courses, coaching, and more.
- Formats
Formats – Including but not limited to individual sessions, classes, retreats, workshops, and festivals.
- Qualifications
Qualifications – Similar to the classic “yellow pages” phone directory, anyone can list. The free directory is not curated. The goal is to have it be as comprehensive as possible, so people who are seeking transformation will have access to many possible teachers.
- Paid listing
Paid listing – The process for vetting teachers who would like to be promoted is still being worked out. This feature will be available after the basic directory is online.
- Transparency
Transparency – Although the public listing can show any name you are known by, we need to know your legal name, postal addresses, and how to reach you (phone and email).
- Basic listing
What does the basic listing include – Your name and/or company name, description of your services, photo (or other image), and one or more of the following contact information: phone number, weblink, social media links, email, mailing address, physical address. You need to include at least one method of contact, and can include as many options as you like.
DISCLAIMER
DISCLAIMER – BIHTT does not verify the accuracy of the information contained in directory profiles. Users are responsible for vetting teachers and practitioners. BIHTT checks that the profile is for an actual person or entity and does not have links to spam related websites.
